Marrakesh is vibrant and full of life, but as with any new destination, it’s good to be prepared.

ICUH Shuttle Service
To simplify your commute, we’ve arranged daily shuttle pickups and drop-offs for our attendees to and from the main conference venue, the Water Museum:

Morning Pickup: 8:00 a.m.
Evening Drop-off: 6:45 p.m. (after daily programming)

If these locations are not convenient, we recommend you organize transportation through your hotel or riad.

Taxi Tips
If you need to take a taxi:

Always negotiate the fare or request the meter: Many drivers do not use the meter with visitors, so agree on a price before starting your ride.
Approximate Fare Guidelines:
- Medina/Jemaa el-Fnaa to the Water Museum (conference venue, approximately 10 km): 40 MAD or $4 USD or EUR.
Taxi Stands: Look for taxis at designated stands in busy areas rather than flagging them down.

Hustling and Offers: Expect shopkeepers, guides, and vendors to approach you in the Medina. Politely decline if you’re not interested. If someone offers to guide you, they may later ask for a tip.
Bargaining Tips: Bargaining is expected and can be fun! Start with half the asking price and negotiate to a middle ground everyone is happy with.

Health & Safety

Crime: Marrakesh is generally safe, but pickpocketing and hassling can occur. Keep valuables secure, especially in crowded areas.
Tap Water: Avoid drinking tap water. Stick to bottled water, which is widely available.
